I’d love to share a delicious chocolate recipe with you in honor of World Chocolate Day! How about a classic and decadent dessert like Chocolate Lava Cake? Here’s a simple recipe for you:
Ingredients:
- 4 ounces (113 grams) of high-quality dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup (115 grams) of unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200 grams) of granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (30 grams) of all-purpose flour
- A pinch of salt
- Optional: powdered sugar and whipped cream for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and lightly flour four ramekins or small oven-safe dishes.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together in the microwave. Heat in short bursts, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate and butter are completely melted and well combined. Be careful not to overheat.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and whisk until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Sift the flour and salt into the chocolate mixture and gently fold it in until no streaks of flour remain. Be careful not to overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
- Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for a minute or two. Gently run a knife around the edges of each cake, then carefully invert each ramekin onto a serving plate to release the cake. Be cautious as the ramekins will be hot.
- Garnish the warm chocolate lava cakes with a dusting of powdered sugar and a dollop of whipped cream, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
These chocolate lava cakes are a delightful treat with a rich, gooey center that oozes out when you cut into them. They are perfect for indulging in on World Chocolate Day or any special occasion. Enjoy
